Woodworking & Blacksmithing Workshop

The Focus on Fine Craft Workshop Program for High School Students serves high school students throughout Tennessee. The program takes place in our professionally equipped studios on the campus of the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tennessee, part of Tennessee Tech. Students who attend the field trip program participate in hands-on craft activities and learn techniques and equipment used by real working artists in glass, clay, wood, fibers, and metals studios.

This year, students will have the opportunity to explore either Woodworking or Blacksmithing. Please make your student's selection when you register.

The program begins at 10 am and runs until 1 pm and includes an orientation, tour, and workshop. Each studio can accommodate up to ten students. Following the workshops, students and teachers are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy it in our cafe dining hall before departing.
